This commercial was aired for the Rio 2016 Olympics. For an event where we often see countries divided into various teams I loved how this commercial brought countries together. It's a lovely picture and vision of what Global Citizenship means.
Image: Gaudi's structural wire-model for the Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudi, New York, 1961
https://jkehl.com/antoni-gaudi/ I went to Barcelona many years ago and was truly inspired by the work of Antoni Gaudi. His architecture was innovative, beautiful, inspiring and full of the mathematical beauty of nature. When I saw this wire model I was amazed at the mathematical genius of his inquiry and ideas. And yet he thought himself a poor mathematician. How many of us sell ourselves short? Hidden genius. |

Commander Chris Hadfield is a hero of mine. Not only is he an incredibly intelligent and funny man, but his work as an Astronaut is completely inspiring. His images from the International Space Station speaks so clearly to all of us, that we need to preserve our beautiful planet. As an educator, mom and learner myself I'm really striving to be a better cultivator of questions. I'm not good at it, but in my head I know it's important. It's definitely a skill that needs to be worked on as I KNOW it's not natural for many. Hopefully it will not be a challenge for our next generation but rather innate in them! Love this video!
This is my son's first drawing. I love it. His big head, his understanding of the human body (of course hands come out of your head!) and the fact that eyes take up half your face! He drew a family of these little guys and we were all this cute. I'm glad that our family was his first drawing. That we were that important to him. What would you draw if you could draw anything in the world right now?
